Since opening in 1991, this 18-hole championship course has had a reputation of being challenging but fair. In Golf Digest’s "Places to Play" guidebook, Jefferson Landing has again earned 4-1/2 stars.

The Mountain Glen Golf Course in Newland, Avery County, is a semi-private course that has been around since 1964. The towns of Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain also have golf clubs that many residents and visitors to the area find the time to enjoy throughout the warmer months.

The Red Tail Mountain Golf Club offers a true mountain course experience with a par 72, 18-hole Dan Maples designed golf course that features spectacular mountain vistas and dramatic backdrops with an impressive 400 feet of elevation change allowing every hole to offer a unique challenge. The course is located in Mountain City, TN, just across the NC/TN border.
