In Boone, golfers love to play at the Boone Golf Club. Nestled in the beautiful Watauga Valley, just south of Boone, N.C. on US Hwy 321, Boone Golf Club features level to gently rolling fairways, large undulating greens, lush greenery, crisp mountain air, and breath-taking views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.

Hawksnest Golf Resort, located in the Foscoe community between Boone and Banner Elk, is one of the most scenic and challenging golf courses in Western, North Carolina. Course developers carefully incorporated nature’s own creative skill and spectacular scenery into a golf course that will equally challenge all skill levels.

Willow Valley Golf Course, located between Boone and Banner Elk just off Highway 105, features a nine-hole executive golf course, three tennis courts, and an outdoor pool.

Jefferson Landing in nearby Ashe County is home to the outstanding Jefferson Landing Golf Course, designed by US Open and two-time PGA Championship winner, Larry Nelson. Since opening in 1991, this 18-hole championship course has had a reputation of being challenging but fair. In Golf Digest’s "Places to Play" guidebook, Jefferson Landing has again earned 4-1/2 stars.

The Mountain Glen Golf Course in Newland, Avery County, is a semi-private course that has been around since 1964. The towns of Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain also have golf clubs that many residents and visitors to the area find the time to enjoy throughout the warmer months.

The Red Tail Mountain Golf Club offers a true mountain course experience with a par 72, 18-hole Dan Maples designed golf course that features spectacular mountain vistas and dramatic backdrops with an impressive 400 feet of elevation change allowing every hole to offer a unique challenge. The course is located in Mountain City, TN, just across the NC/TN border.
