Blowing Rock

The quaint mountain village of Blowing Rock sits astride the Eastern Continental Divide at a cool 4,000 foot elevation in the heart of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Known as the “Crown of the Blue Ridge,” Blowing Rock is a very special place to live, work, and play. The year-round population of Blowing Rock is approximately 1425, but in the summer months visitors flocked to this marvelous mecca to enjoy the comfortable cool summers.



Cultural opportunities include the Blowing Rock Stage Company, a professional summer stock threatre; Art in the Park, a series of six jurried Arts and Crafts shows; Concerts in the Park on Sunday evenings from May to October in the Town Park; and various festivals and events including Winterfest and the Blue Ridge Wine Festival.



Located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock offers never-ending year-round outdoor recreational activities. Residents and visitors alike enjoy fishing in pristine lakes and streams, exploring miles and miles of hiking trails, downhill and cross country skiing, canoeing, camping, spelunking, and more.



The Village of Blowing Rock has beautiful bed and breakfast inns, hotels, and cabins. Restaurant choices range from homestyle biscuits and gravy to trout served five ways to multi-course continental feasts.
